On this island, no one matches his intensity, and he’s an easy “S-tier” for that alone.
Citra Talugmai
Ah, Citra. The queen of the island and Vaas’s sister, though she’s quite different from him… or maybe not, because she’s a little crazy too! Citra is the spiritual leader of the Rakyat, and trust me, she has that “warrior goddess” vibe that makes you unsure whether to trust her or run away. Things with her get, well, let’s say “intense” as the story progresses. She pulls you in with a mix of seduction and power, but you never really know what she’s after. Citra is a master of messing with your head and your emotions, which is why she’s also an “S-tier.” Few characters can hypnotize and challenge you like she does.
Jason Brody
Jason is the main character we all have inside us—or at least we think so at first. He starts as an ordinary guy on vacation with friends, but after the first explosions and kidnappings, he evolves into the classic “young hero” archetype. The beauty of Jason is how quickly he transforms from a tourist to an unstoppable warrior, which, let’s be honest, is something we all dream of in Far Cry 3. Bambi “Buck” Hughes

Hoyt Volker
Ah, Hoyt, the big fish behind all the chaos on the island. This guy is like the final boss who isn’t as terrifying as Vaas but still sends chills down your spine with his mobster-like elegance. He’s the antagonist pulling all the strings from the shadows, running his human trafficking operation with a wicked smile. While he lacks Vaas’s explosive craziness, he’s just as dangerous because of his calculated nature and his knack for always staying two steps ahead. What Hoyt lacks to reach “S-tier” is charisma; he’s colder than a drink straight out of the fridge. Still, don’t underestimate this guy—anyone who does in this jungle doesn’t live to tell the tale.
Dennis Rogers
Dennis is that character who always gives you solid advice but never seems to have his own life under control. He’s the first person to introduce you to the chaos of Far Cry 3 and helps you become the warrior you need to be. He’s got a ton of inspirational lines and acts as your mentor early on, but honestly, he feels a bit… lost. At times, he seems more like a fanboy of Citra than a true leader, and that knocks him down a few points. Still, credit where it’s due: without Dennis, Jason probably wouldn’t have lasted a day on the island. His obsession with herbs makes you wonder if he’s actually helping you or just planning to make you his next experiment. This guy is basically a walking cliché: the spy with a hidden agenda and a bunch of cryptic one-liners. He has a few interesting moments, but he’s not the kind of character who’ll leave you speechless. Sure, his sarcastic conversations can be entertaining if you catch them at the right moment. In the end, Willis is there to move the plot along, but not much else. A well-deserved “B” tier.
Riley Brody
Riley, Jason’s younger brother, is like that character you try to remember, but never quite manage to. His role in the story is basically to be the “lost brother” that you need to rescue, and while that sounds exciting, in practice, he doesn’t contribute much. You see him, you save him, and that’s it. He doesn’t have Jason’s charisma or the drama of his other friends. Riley seems to be there just to give the game an emotional excuse, but he doesn’t manage to truly connect with you. He’s one of those characters you could replace with a generic NPC and nobody would notice the difference. A well-deserved “C” tier.
Liza “Nikki” Snow
Liza, Jason’s love interest, is another one of those figures that just… exists. It’s assumed that her bond with Jason should carry emotional weight in the plot, but the truth is, you never really get to experience it. It’s as if the writers wanted you to care, but then forgot to give her any real personality. Liza spends most of her time being the damsel in distress, and even though she has some moments where she tries to be brave, she never really stands out. She’s the type of character you look at and think, “Yeah, you’re here too.” Undoubtedly a “C” tier, but with more development, she could have at least climbed one step higher. She might be the most forgettable Far Cry 3 character, even surpassing those in the “D” tier, but we’ll see about that…
Hurk
Ah, Hurk. If there’s a “D” tier in Far Cry 3, it’s because this character practically invented it. Hurk is the typical “comic relief” attempt that simply doesn’t work. His forced humor and lame lines make every interaction with him feel more like a test of patience than something funny. Sure, he has explosive monkeys, and that sounds great on paper, but even those moments don’t save his spot in the land of forgettable characters. It’s like the developers said, “We need a funny character,” and then forgot to give him any charisma or relevance. Seriously, after seeing him, you realize not everything that explodes is exciting. Definitely a well-deserved “D” tier, and frankly, it’s hard to top him in the “bad” category.
Maybe Hurk has fans, but this is just my opinion. Of all the Far Cry 3 characters, he’s earned his place.
